Oh those pesky Coupons….

August 29, 2007

I have tried several ways to organize my coupons over the years.  Most of which lead to my despising the fact that they even exisit.  Then I tried this….

Coupon Organizer

What a great joy it has been to go to the store and be able to find each and every coupon.  I have used a 3 ring binder with baseball card protector sheets to hold the coupons.  I divided the protector sheets with tabbed dividers.  I labeled the tabs with catagories that made sense to me.  Not one coupon looks out of place in it’s catagory.  That was the beauty of this system  You can make as many labels as you need.

I can see each coupon without shuffling through a stack an inch thick.  Which makes watching Moe that much easier.  As I use a coupon I simply take it out and place it in an envelope.

This has made shopping and saving so much more pleasant for me.

How do you use your coupons????

  3. Wow! What organization! I haven’t couponed seriously in a few years. After I mis-placed the perfect coupon system that I had developed, life took over and I never really got back into it. But now, with a change in my husband’s jobs, I am seriously thinking about trying it again. One thing that helped me when I was couponing was that I wrote my grocery list on a plain envelope. I had a magnetic clip on the fridge and I would just clip up an new, plain envelope each week. Then, before I went to the store, I could look through the ads and coupons, placing any coupons that I knew I would be using in the envelope. It virtually eliminated actually going through my coupon book at the store, but I would bring the book along just in case something came up. It helped that the store I went to at the time took expired coupons, so I didn’t have to worry so much about expiration dates. Anyway, it worked for me.

  4. PS- Speaking of “works for me…”, I’d encourage you to check out another blog, Rocks in my Dryer at: http://rocksinmydryer.typepad.com/
where she hosts a “Works for me Wednesday”. Lots of good ideas there!

  5. Oooh. I just searched back and found this after landing on your blog via my cousin’s blog (Tomorrow is Another Day) and have been trying to convince my hubby this is the only way I could see myself using coupons. We’ve been struggling lately, financially, and many people have suggested I should try using coupons. It sounds like a great idea in theory, but I know myself, and there’s no way I’m going to take the extra time needed to do it. But THIS looks like it would be really easy, and take little extra time at all.

    Thanks!
